What the f*** are you talking about??
Me saying "Merry Christmas" out loud at the mall is 'no different' than some mutant bigot jackhole stopping a Black guy from entering a state university by brandishing a badge and a rifle?
As a "free nation" we must "keep moving" to "remove preferences" - and showing a "preference" for a certain religion is wrong?
I'll assume you're learning, and willing to learn more.
Let's recap recent events.
1. A few psychotic individuals, led by, influenced by (or whatever other phrase you choose to use) a really evil bastard, murdered thousands of Americans on their home soil. They claimed, and their 'leaders' still claim, that this crime of theirs was an Act of God and they were just helping God along. Murdering innocent bystanders is a holy deed according to these few guys.
2. A great many people in this country became fearful that a similar event could happen again. The leaders of the country recognized a very significant threat to the country and all the citizens of that country, and adopted a plan to counteract that threat and remove it so it was no longer a threat to anyone, not just their own country.
This has nothing to do with restrooms. Nothing. Your logic is flawed. An evil bastard plans out and executes mass murder and uses his faulty interpretation of religion to 'justify' the act as 'righteous' and 'good'. He chuckles with his friends that more 'enemies' died painful deaths than he had expected.
You and I both know that whoever that guy is, he's insane. We can agree on this, I assume.
There's a problem here, we can both agree on that also.
Your solution to the problem is for me to recognize that somehow I am either partially or completely responsible for the criminal acts of this mutant jackhole and his pals - and to offer more respect for his religious beliefs by editing my public speech in such a way as may be less offensive to him.
I have some news for you. I have zero 'respect' for Bin Laden and his organization. He's not a holy man, he's a psychotic murdering criminal bastard, and he is going to die. In case you missed it, recently, while they were running into their caves, the Taliban came across a few Afghanis that had shaved their beards. These unfortunate souls had their ears and noses sliced off for their "crime".
It has nothing to do with religion. Nothing. The only reference to religion here is the one you have bought into, the crap that this murdering bastard and his pals have managed to put on the front pages of all the newspapers in the world by committing horrendous crimes against ANYONE, regardless of their sex, race, religion, or color, who does not submit to their oppressive 'authority'. Your analogy with the civil rights movement in the United States is therefore bogus.
But what's your underlying failure of logic? You say "...we as a free nation must keep moving to remove preferences...".
That's an amazingly naive statement. You may not know it, but that argument is based on the premise that 'nothing is really right or wrong - it all depends on how you look at it', or, 'right and wrong is in the eye of the beholder'.
That's bullshit!
As a nation, the United States was built on the idea of freedom for everyone. That's what the Constitution is all about. Yes, there have been terrible injustices in the United States based on political, sexual, or racial prejudices, and all manner of Very Bad Things. Friggin' women couldn't even vote a hundred years ago. Black Americans were slaves, Chinese Americans were treated like dogs, the list is long and sordid. And it still goes on today, right in your neighborhood.
You can concentrate on that if you want to, but don't tell me that I need to "remove [my] preferences" to "keep moving forward" - because you have no idea what the f*** you are talking about.
I see a diversity in the United States that I see nowhere else on the planet. I see people of all faiths and colors who are allowed to express themselves without fear of reprisal in the middle of the night. I ain't worried about getting my ears or nose cut off because somebody who loves Usama Bin Laden reads this and decides I need a lesson in obedience.
And the reason I ain't worried is because my team is right. Bin Laden is wrong. He is crazy. He is evil.
He's dead. We are on the right side of this little conflict. Fact.
You want me to limit my speech and my thought in deference to someone who happens to think or believe differently than I do? Screw you, pal. What I think is that you can say or do whatever you want, as long as my freedom to say and do whatever I want is not obstructed. Very simple. That's what laws are all about. It's simple because I am not a lying evil criminal psychotic bastard. Neither are you. Both of us want to live in peace. I may not agree with you, but I respect your right...
You can be responsible for Usama if you want, it's a free country and you have that right. I already know who is responsible for Usama Bin Laden and his deeds. For you to align your lame 'argument' to insinuate that I agree with segregation if I don't agree with you makes you - how can I say this - wrong.
You've bought into Usama's 'religion' argument, not me. Personally, I see one's religion as a very personal thing. I don't denigrate anyone because they happen to practice a different religion than I do. I don't even get into it. Bin Laden has done more to pollute one of the great religions on this planet than any other single individual I can think of at the moment, but that doesn't make me think, believe, or feel any differently about the Muslim guy down the street at the convenience store who is trying to make a better life for himself and his family after making one of the wisest moves he's ever made - moving to the United States.
My "preference" is no more mass murders, no more terrorist acts, no more evil deeds of any kind on this planet. In order for that to happen, we have to be able to actually recognize that there are some bad guys who need to be stopped right now. Not because of their religion, their sexual peccadillos, or their skin color - but because they want to murder people they don't know and have never met, in their sleep, in order for their big plan to take over the world to succeed.
I prefer good to evil - whatever the color or faith of the mouth that is talking. If you can't see the difference between bad and good, then you are free to learn, because you happen to live in a place that allows it.
But if you choose to tell me there is something wrong with me because I can tell the difference between somebody who wants us all to get better and somebody who wants us all dead because we are not going along with his program, then you're the one with the problem, dood - not me.
Wise up. |
