Actually there is no rift between CPQ and HWP- the rift is between the 2 large foundations who control blocks of HWp stock and the HWP Board. And what it amounts to is who is running HWP- the Foundations or the Board. This merger was concieved and planned by Mr Hackborn. Fiorina is the front person but the brains behind the move is Hackborn and I think it will happen even if it hairlips the Foundations and the rich kids. HWP cannot afford to lose the Board of Directors and CEO. It would cost it another year at least and would never recover. It will be close but Fiorina and Co will prevail to betterment of both Companies shareholders long term.
