Takes money to make money, even if you have to buy when it hurts, doubling down all the way as I did I am already in the black. So I took some profits in NTAP, and will buy on the retrenchment, so that in January I will be fully vested again for the RECOVERY RUN UP, in which EMC and NTAP will exceed prior highs, as all solid companies do on a full blown recovery. When PALM runs up, which it will, I will make even more money. I already did so with HANDspring, and took some profits and am waiting again.
When stock fall, that are solid, and the fall is not permanent like ENRON, it usually pays, if you have the money, to double down, to average your TCO total cost of ownership down, so that on a RALLY you can make a net gain at a lower price point. That is what I did with NTAP all the way to $6, now it hit 4x that price a Quadruple, of course my average price at that point was $12 or so, but guess what, at $24 that is still a double NET NET NET.
I did the same with EMC and PALM and HAND, and now am buying more EMC and PALM. Later, I will repeat this process, but not yet, with NTAP and then HAND. As for Chips, I just stay invested. DB AND CRM companies like ORCL....only when the impulse moves me and then just for the short term. You can't follow one piece of strategy short term and not follow the whole strategy, that is not how to win the war. Follow or LEAD ALL THE WAY.
