Went to Christmas Party last night in the Canberra suburb of Bruce. Seemed happy enough in the comfortable Canberra way. Plenty of food, wine, champagne.... people outside and inside, in the humid and relatively warm evening and falling night. Host is a senior public servant, mostly public service people at party. Nobody seemed worries except about why the Liberal Party was re-elected to government instead of their preference Labor (more spending on public service - I finally understand there is no altruism involved).
