Buzz around...
tivo and sblu lately suggests to me that interactive tv will come to mean interaction between the viewer and tivo-style hard drives installed in or on top of their tv, instead of interaction between the viewer and headends/servers. Seems like this brand of interactive tv will integrate better with bandwidth-eating Hdtv, than interaction between viewer and headend will. But in the tivo model, it remains uncertain how tv advertising will be integrated. IMO Hdtv will soon pick-up steam and Hdtv's will become widespread. The falling prices of hdtv's and the success of dvd's also suggests this. If my opinions turn out to have any validity, where does this leave Actv? Thoughts welcome. I've been watching iatv. But also been watching tivo. Unfortunately, tivo and sblu are apparently suing each other as of last week, which possibly could lead to both co's forming an alliance or merging to do battle with msft's Ultimate tv, but which in any event probably leaves new investors scratching their heads and avoiding those stocks for the moment. All jmho. Good luck with iatv.
