>>"views" of the market
I decided to play this thing long term, and that's been my strategy. It has had a huge opportunity cost(which I have posted, admitted or whatever you want to call it), but I decided to stick it out. I couldn't have been any plainer about it, or more consistent. I never said anyone was wrong not to do the same thing.
This is what I decided to do and said so at the time. I decided to keep my eye on the new-economy ball. Keep looking and refining my view of who the winners will be. There's no ego here.
If I were trying to protect some false image, I'd be lying through my teeth like others here.
If I disagree with someone's point of view I say so. That doesn't imply that everything I think is right, or that this strategy was right. The stock prices speak for themselves.
I find it really interesting the emotion that flows around here. When I believed you were clueless about Ariba, I told you so. You were disparaging the company without even knowing what it did. Take that for what it's worth. It was a plain fact.
None of this is personal with me.
I started the winners thread as a place where people can have a place to discuss companies and issues without all the ad-hominem BS that occurs here. I think people appreciate that, but contrary to all the crap some here spewed about it, you'll notice I don't hide there.
So bring it on, GST. Just realize that when I say something I mean it, and I tell the truth as I understand it. I don't attack anyone. If I tire of HJ's stalking, I may leave for a while, but you can count on me to be looking for long-term opportunities, bringing up new ideas, and trying to maintain a generally realistic view of the future...regardless of what's happening in the markets.
Holding long-term has a downside. I'll see where it takes me. |
