hello thread,

i've been following the discussion on market chicanery and thought i'd recommend a book i'm still reading and enjoying: Devil Take The Hindmost: A History of Financial Speculation by Edward Chancellor

not that there's anything new, just a refresher on the particulars of historical events and the characters who made them. for me, it eases the stress to understand and accept that it has always been the fundamental aim of the markets to separate a fool from his money as quickly as possible while encouraging him to tell his friends and neighbors how much fun it was.

i know i'm having fun. (;o)
