Larry,

What modem did you use to send / receive faxes with prior to getting DSL? ... and the Alcatel Dataset?

Do you still have it on that PC?

The ADSL is a DIGITAL subscriber line standard. The Fax standard is analogue. To my knowledge no DSL Dataset (not a modem) supports Fax. ADSL permits analogue devices such as telephones and faxes to continue operation on the same physical line as the ADSL transmission is using.

Whatever you were doing prior to getting ADSL should continue to work as long as the fax device has a filter in front of it.
