Lorne---- 1st SI SUX big today!
You are correct in alluding the current military policy is rather recent. Again,, that is a leadership and NOT military policy. Still, one cannot survive and grow on history.
The draft dodgers were not terrorists but indicates a verifyable time frame of the acceptance of cowardice, not just in Canada but when peanut head gave amnesty to the bastards also.
As for Ali, Fonda and others. They may be well known but ask any vet if these fools are 'heros'. Possibly they should have been sent to Cambodia, Siberia, Afganistan, etc as they certainly do not deserve to live in the US,, unless in jail.
Basically, we agree the problem is 'stupid govt policys' in BOTH countrys. After seeing the results of 9/11 I would have thought there may have been changes of policy in Canada as the same can happen there. The US and Canada are very dependent on each other in many areas. The last place any one in the US wants to see trouble is at our neighbors,, the policy changes of recent decades gives more concern for our neighbors than ever expected. Possibly the policy changes of recent in the US will remain for some time,, possibly more stupid changes will arise in the future,, but not until the current situation has been erradicated...
