Hi DJ, <<law-and-order state>> I generally stay away from politics of all kinds, discussions and otherwise, as I had and still do believe that “it just is”, “each time one opens the cages, the same beasts jump out”, and “each group of people deserves the governors they have (until they don’t)”.

I appreciate democracy, in all its forms, by mob or electorate, by voting with investment money, emigrating feet, or franchised ballot. I also appreciate that events, invariably, go in cycles, and we are now solidly in the not-fun-anymore cycle, in the political, economic, and financial market spheres.

I am hopeful, because I am an optimist, that if we are not at the bottom of the political cycle, we are close to it. This is only a hope of mine, supported by zero visibility.

I am fearful that the political cycle may, in its usual expected way, be tied or linked to the economic and financial cycles, and if so, we have a while to go yet.

We must take the new reality into consideration, expect more and worse of the same, and be prepared for a long season of unintended consequences.

We are going on a journey. The destitute and desperate crowds are clamoring to embark on a not so elegant ship. The destination is known, to a land of hope, but certainty of passage is not, for many, not in the know.

We are allowed one piece of hand-carry luggage. Start packing.

Chugs, Jay
