"Semi-conductor stocks are "ahead" of themselves!!" --- I hear this almost everyday I watch the 'gurus' CNBC guests.

If this is true and/or you agree that your stock you own has charged too far too fast and may be due for a pull-back [like JDSU (for example)], but, you want to continue to hold the stock for the long haul, what type of option strategy would you use to protect your 'profit' until the stock continues up?

Some are talking about shorting the stock; but, I think they are holding the stock and buying or selling options to do the same thing as shorting the stock.

Wonder if you have any ideas on how to do this and some of your experiences doing this.

Thanks,
Lonnie (Covered Call Dummy)
