Clinton had a goal for the economy, to be world class in a world wide economy. Bush does not want anything like a world economy, he want's A U.S. economy, and a Chineese economy, and a European economy, all running seperately as they did in the past. Going back to the old goals, of what? nationalism? is pretty much like no goal at all.

The low interest, the stimulus, and the low oil prices are bound to create some level of growth next year. What will it grow toward? Without global markets to reach the growth will be driven more by a supply of money than by an expanding market. This is a classic predictor of inflation. I fear that next year will be out of the frying pan and into the fire.
