Well, you are so adamant that Sims in guiding his employees to be more
sensitive in using the words "merry christmas"

Rich,

There is a difference between being sensitive and being dictatorial towards others with your own personal politics. I simply cannot understand how a non-Christian can be offended by the words Merry Christmas or how Happy Hanukkah could offend a non-Jew. America is built on diversity, both cultural and religious and we should share and celebrate those differences. I am not supporting religious recruitment in the work place but wishing someone a Merry Christmas or Happy Hanukkah would most likely not cause permanent psychological damage to a non-participant. In this situation I think Mr. Simms was wrong but probably meant well. JMO

Best regards,

NM
