Stratasys Sees 2Q Revs Lower Than Analysts' Estimates

MINNEAPOLIS (Dow Jones)--Stratasys Inc. (SSYS) expects to report
record second quarter revenues, though short of analysts' expectations due to
manufacturing constraints for its FDM-8000 product line.

In a press release Monday, the company said it sees revenues increasing
significantly from the 1997 first quarter, when it posted revenues of $5.2
million. Stratasys said growing demand exists for its FDM product line and it
expects 1997 to be its most successful year to date.

The company said other factors that reduced revenues below analysts'
expectations for the quarter were a stronger dollar compared with European
currencies and delays in closing some domestic sales, which Stratasys expects
to book in the third and fourth quarters.

Stratasys makes prototyping systems and reported revenues of $5.3 million in
the second quarter ended June 30, 1996.
