OPEC's best allies in delaying this are the socialists and eco-terrorists throughout the West who will continue to try to monopolize and control the development of new technologies and eliminate the slightest possibility of any profit that has not been earned with either support for a pet law or regulation, or a campaign contribution. Solar, nuclear, and space-based energy production have all been either destroyed or pushed back by generations by the urge to exercise the ultimate right to meddle.
