Mercury dispute's Bombardier's claim:

boating-industry.com

Would Sea-Doo be willing to pay to re-engineer all their PWC's for Ficht? EXPENSIVE. And remember, Sea Doo jetboats are moving to Mercury engines, not Bombardier, so that won't happen. And if they dump OCP on PWC's, keep in mind Kawasaki would likely abandon Ficht for OCP, just about offsetting it. We're still uncertain how Yamaha intends to meet emissions on inexpensive models. No way to produce a cheap 4S PWC, and even an EFI 2S w/cat won't meet DFI emissions.

The resale situation remains the same. Buy Ficht and your worries are high while your resale is low. Ficht has a horrible reputation, and used boat buyers run for their life. "Honey, it's going to be a great weekend. As long as the engine doesn't catch on fire, lock up, or explode; we'll have a great time". The OCP air pump that OMC loved to call "complicated" is the size of a golf ball. You decide.
