The Indians did not found the United States, nor were they citizens until much later. Furthermore, although the Constitution forbade Congress from establishing religion, it was not until the 14th Amendment, after the Civil War, that the states were considered also forbidden, and some states did have established churches for periods of time. Finally, since it is obvious that culturally the United States was a Christian, mainly Protestant nation, and the Founders talked about the importance of religion in encouraging morality, it is pretty clear that there is some sense in which the Founding was drawn from Christian sources as well as classical and modern secular sources.....
