Hey John.. What's your read on Calpine trying to renegotiate those long-term power contracts with California?

Is that what the markets are perceiving more than tainting the entire sector with the ENE debacle?

It would seem that this would mean lower earnings would be in store for any company that lets California off the hook.

Also, I'm wondering if ENE's demise has provided "fire sale" opportunities to buy out some of their trading positions by companies like CPN.

Btw, I believe CPN may try and sell forward some of its natural gas reserves to raise cash. That could have interesting effects on Natural Gas futures (already under pressure).
