Online travel firm Priceline.com (PCLN: news, chart, profile) said it has signed a "travel marketing alliance" with America Online.
Under the terms of the deal, Priceline's "family of travel products will be available across" several AOL brands including CompuServe, Netscape and MapQuest. Priceline described AOL as "its first major online marketing partner to complement Priceline.com's ongoing radio and TV ad campaigns."
Priceline closed up 20 cents, or 3.7 percent, at $5.57 ahead of the deal while AOL Time Warner (AOL: news, chart, profile) added 57 cents, or 1.7 percent, to $33.55. In late action, shares of Priceline gained 97 cents, or 18 percent, to $6.54, while shares of AOL Time Warner gained 40 cents to $33.95. |
