I have both a Win2K and XP machines and I don't know what app you are using that it takes 40 seconds more to come up on Win2K. In fact I noticed very small differences between XP and Win2K. And as Infoworld posted in their review and tests of XP against Win2K, Windows XP is very much slower in performance against Windows 2000. that is why InfoWorld did not recommend companies go to WinXP.
