Capital expenses are considered to be "Investing Cash Flows". AMD was, in fact, Cash Flow from Operations positive, meaning that their business (i.e. selling uPs) generated cash.
Now, if one includes "capital expenses" or, in other words, additions to Plant, Property & Equipment, AMD would be, what is called, Free Cash Flow negative.
There are differences between Cash Flow from Operations and Free Cash Flow.
Additionally, if one calculated Intel's Free Cash Flow that, too, would be negative. |
