Will Congress outlaw the gross conflicts that CPA firms have with their other business consulting compacts with the same firms they audit? I hope so, otherwise, you will see more Enrons and less confidence in the stock market.
From today's congressional hearings:
"Among questions raised about Andersen's audit of Enron are whether the auditor was influenced by the fact that $27 million of its $52 million in Enron fees last year were paid for work other than the annual audit. "
