IBM Teams with Nuvo to Expand Management Services Offering in U.S.
OTTAWA, ON, Dec. 18 /CNW/ - Nuvo Network Management Inc. (CDNX:NNM - news), a leading Management Service Provider (MSP), today announced an agreement with IBM (NYSE:IBM - news) to offer Nuvo's rNMX series of remote network management services in the United States.
IBM Global Services, the world's largest information technology services provider, will add Nuvo's services as a component of the delivery of IT services online. Nuvo's services allow customers to maximize the availability of their corporate networks while reducing the need for significant investments in systems and personnel.

Nuvo and IBM have teamed to provide a networking solution for Big Lots, Inc. (NYSE:BLI - news) of Columbus Ohio, the United States' largest broadline closeout retailer and operator of more than 1,300 retail stores. IBM has been contracted by Big Lots to implement and support a comprehensive network solution, including Nuvo's rNMX 5100 service, providing 24/7 remote management of their entire retail network. Big Lots will use the new corporate network to support an aggressive applications rollout strategy, including new point of sale capabilities in all stores.

"Our new network is critical to the success of our enterprise, and we need a comprehensive network management solution to achieve our operational cost and availability targets," said Steve Bromet, Big Lots' Chief Information Officer. "Nuvo's expertise is clearly industry leading and, combined with their strong partnership with IBM, made them an ideal choice."

"This arrangement is a cornerstone of our growth strategy to aggressively pursue the U.S. market," said Kevin Vachon, Nuvo's Chairman and CEO. "With its large established customer base, breadth of service offerings and excellent reputation, IBM is ideally positioned to capture a significant share of the MSP market. Our track record in large mission-critical network environments such as financial services and government gives us the credibility required to differentiate Nuvo from the many participants in the MSP market," added Vachon.
