Sounds like a pretty solid (and safe) prediction.

"The popularity of Bush will not translate into big wins for Republicans"

In the short term it may not. I'm hoping that the surge towards a more conservative America that started with 9-11 will end up being a slight shift to the right over the long run. The distinctions between the two parties will become more clear to some Americans and they will realize they like what the repubs stand for.
