How many years did the Soviet's ( super power ) at that time spend trying to beat the Afgahans and had to leave in disgrace...How many men did they lose trying?

The USA went in there and did the job in just a few weeks
and lost no people in actual combat.

I really don't think it was money wasted. What country would go up against this kind of power, what country would hide bin liden. The arab countries don't appear to be all that bright but even they should be able to figure it out.
The war is against all terrorist, bin hidin is just one more scum a more important scum but still only one more scum.
He will turn up at some point and as your president said.
