Belgian authorities collaborated with the Nazi regime, both politically and economically. That's why Belgium got drawn into the throes of the so-called Question Royale in the 1950s: because King Leopold III was pro-German and met with Hitler at Berchtesgaden, he had to abdicate and allow for his heir Baldwin to succeed him...

Economically, Belgium's ore processing industries supplied Germany throughout WWII (coal, iron & steel,...) The biggest holding company was Societe Generale de Belgique headed by a Governor, Mr Alexandre Galopin --the guy was bumped off in 1945 allegedly by "Nazi sympathizers".... Actually, Mr Galopin knew too much about the Belgian shenanigans with Germany.
