I suppose it might help. It's no secret that the players in telecom are all looking for new business and I would suspect that the telcos will try to play the price squeezing game. That has it's limits since most of the equipment isn't a commodity item.

There are very few stocks in the telecom equipment sector that are reasonably priced even with their recent plunge though, so to break out, they are going to need some mighty big orders and it's unclear when they would arrive, given that we'd probably have to see design wins.

It could be that the telcos are downplaying their spending plans to milk companies for price breaks. If so, that will only last so long.
