RE:"Intel to roll out 'Northwood' line of 0.13-micron Pentium 4 chips on Jan. 4
Semiconductor Business News
(12/19/01 15:26 p.m. EST)
SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- On Jan. 4, Intel Corp. will finally announce the code-named "Northwood" product line--the long-awaited, 0.13-micron versions of its Pentium 4 microprocessor line.
The initial "Northwood" processors are expected to run at 2-and 2.2-GHz, according to sources. At present, Intel's fastest Pentium 4 processor, which is based on 0.18-micron technology, runs at 2-GHz.
Intel has been showing the "Northwood" processor line for some time. Last summer, Taiwanese board makers were showing products--equipped with the chip, it was noted.
On Jan. 4, Intel is also expected to show Brookdale-D, a chip set that supports double-data-rate (DDR) SDRAM for the Pentium 4 chip"

Great news...amazing how Intel kept this secret until the last minute! LOL
AMDs ASPs are in BIG trouble with Hammer no where in sight.
Sure looks like Jerry is determined to be just a little slower...
Gotta feel sorry for those who get a Willy + SDRAM for Christmas. Intel has a habit a shafting the Christmas crowd.
