WASHINGTON, Dec. 18 (UPI) -- Christians in the United States are in serious trouble because most no longer heed Jesus' Great Commission, Diane Knippers, President of the Washington-based Institute on Religion and Democracy, told United Press International Tuesday.

To Knippers, Christ's words, "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit" (Matthew 28:19) are his major assignment to the church.
