DETROIT, Dec. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- OnStar's nearly two million subscribers are now able to keep up with all the latest sports news and personalities from Sporting News Radio through OnStar's hands-free, voice-activated Virtual Advisor service.

OnStar Virtual Advisor is a simple, location-enabled voice portal designed for the driving environment. It's the first service of its kind to offer hands-free, voice-activated access to Internet-based audio content that subscribers personalize on their myonstar.com Web page. The SportingNewsFlash!, updated every 20 minutes on Sporting News Radio, will keep OnStar Virtual Advisor users current on the latest sports news and scores. Sporting News Radio also offers interviews with sports newsmakers and personalities twice daily through Virtual Advisor, updated for morning and afternoon drive times. In February 2002, Sporting News Radio will also provide Virtual Advisor users with frequent updates from the Winter Olympic Games in Salt Lake City.

"This content from Sporting News Radio is a large step in OnStar's continuing effort to make the offerings from Virtual Advisor the most personalized ever," said Rod Egdorf, vice president of OnStar Wireless Services.
