That is a very good point. However what does it mean?
In my opinion Greenspan is caught in a transition between the two worlds<Keynesian and Freidmanian>.
Such a transition by its nature is not volantary, but a response to crisis.
What sort of crisis?Debt, trade inbalence , social security, unemployment support and its funding.
What does that mean?It means a transfer of wealth through direct{taxes }and indirect methodes{devaluation/inflation}.
I dont know for sure, but I strongly suspect that this is now happening.Taxes are not going up yet,but money supply is soaring. PS .bear in mind that the majority of economic pundits have been consistantly wrong for two years now so if those same pundits sustain that gold is a dead investment that is reason enough for me o dip my toe in the golden pond.
