Excite@Home killed by three factors in my view
1. acquisition of Mountain Crapp for $700m
- it has no earnings, little prospect
- totally sapped the treasury

2. ATT in their typical braindead leadership
- sale of TCI gave all cablers an exit door from ties to E@H
- that was "pure sabotage"

3. E@H executives put growth over quality in priority
- quality problems persisted, finally hitting cashflow

all in all, I doubt this will be a big deal
the pipes will all be working soon, nothing abandoned
big winner might be ATT morons, buying for 30c on $
