I don't get the impression that Tripp really viewed Lewinsky as a friend. She viewed her as a conduit to information about a corrupt president and herself as an official in exposing the corruption. As such, not only do I excuse her so-called betrayal, I applaud her courage. John Dean took some shots for "betraying" his president years ago, and now he's a respected talking head. Perhaps Tripp will find a more forgiving public as time goes by.
