On the upside for silver, General Electric (GE: news, chart, profile) has said it will use a high temperature superconductor generator that utilizes 1,000 troy ounces of silver, according to GNI Research analyst Lawrence Eagles. The wire manufacturer, AMSC, is the first commercial facility in the world and is expected to use 4 million to 5 million troy ounces of silver per year of wire for the superconductors

Wow! 1000 troy ounces of silver. Do you think that will replace the reduced demand for silver in conventional film, which is being replaced very rapidly by digital? (Hint, it's a drop in the bucket.) Art
