Cologne - the ARD Politics show "Monitor" in its Thursday evening emission pointed out translation errors in the english version of the latest Osama bin Laden video, as translated by the US of Ministry of Defense. The amateur video, which shows bin Laden with his followers, was described few days ago by the US president, George W.Bush, as "devastating admission of guilt" by bin Laden and was released for world-wide emission. The Hamburg Orientalist Professor Gernot Rotter as well as two independent, sworn-in translators, have proven according to monitor that the Pentagon version of the English translation of the "confession" at several places of importance contains additions, which lead one to conclude without any doubt the complicity of bin Laden. Time references for instance were quoted, which allegedly prove the foreknowledge of events by bin Laden, but which do not surface in the original Arab version. The conclusive power of the video material is thus very questionable (dpa)

seen the show: example - "...and we calculated in advance the number of victims..." In advance is, according to three independent persons, without any shade of doubt, nowhere to be heard on the tape. In a court of law a hefty distinction (plus a set-back for the DA and his staff). A SEAL - and sizeable portion of the general public - would probably act first and then deliberate
