DCH Hydrogen Sensor System Validated for Military Applications

VALENCIA, Calif., Dec. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- DCH Technology, Inc. (Amex: DCH), a manufacturer of hydrogen sensors and hydrogen fuel cells and provider of hydrogen safety services, announced that the DCH H2SCAN(TM) Sensor System that utilizes the DCH Robust Hydrogen Sensor(TM) passed five key elements of the rigorous MIL-STD-810C specification and thus cleared the last major hurdle for its use in military systems worldwide.

A major defense contractor required validation for the five elements as a condition to purchasing the H2SCAN(TM) Sensor System. Two units of the system have already been shipped to the customer and DCH is anticipating sales of up to 100 identical systems over the next year. The testing was conducted by National Technical Systems, one of the largest independent testing facilities in the United States.

"Passing this specification is a key milestone in our sensor's sales strategy," said John Donohue, DCH President and Chief Executive Officer. "It opens the military market for DCH, where we are poised for significant growth. It also sends a very strong signal to other industries that DCH has state-of-the-art technology for sensing hydrogen that will survive demanding applications. As we incorporate this validation into our marketing efforts, we believe it will open new doors for us in the nuclear, semiconductor, and petrochemical markets."

The MIL-STD-810C specifications require demanding tests for vibration, mechanical shock, temperature shock, temperature cycle, and humidity soak. The tests were successfully completed last week. Details of the testing can be obtained from Mark Schmidt, DCH Sensors, at 1-661-775-8120.
