SouthernEra Resources Ltd. Yilgarn Craton Joint Venture

The joint venture partners discovered a new kimberlite field during June 2001. Drill sample from eight intrusions has been processed by caustic fusion at Lakefield Research and concentrates examined by SouthernEra Resources Limited (TSE: SUF - news). Microprobe analysis has confirmed the presence of kimberlitic chrome spinel, ilmenite and G9 pyrope. Spinel was recovered from drill material at all targets and sample from two anomalies reported a heavy mineral suite of spinel, ilmenite and pyrope.

Caldera believes that significant progress has been achieved at the JV during two field seasons. This year's results confirm not only the validity of the exploration concept, but also that the Company's exploration techniques can locate kimberlites on the deeply weathered Yilgarn Craton.

SouthernEra has recently approved a budget expansion for 2002. Selected targets will be drilled deeper in the coming field season and the companies will initiate additional diamond exploration beyond the existing Yilgarn Craton Project area.
