Agreed. But bear in mind that The Economist is a British magazine. and the UK is out of the Euro. So it is a bit slanted towads Britain that is out of the Euro.

I hardly use cash in Europe, preferring always credit Cards. Si if I woold be there I would be using only credit card.

So but you allways need the cash even if in small amount. THe locals may have a harder problem than a foreign passing by, though.
