As a an American with a Dutch sister married to an Indian from New Delhi, with two young children here in the United States and an extended family in India's capital, site of the outrageous terrorist attack on the seat of the world's most populous democracy, I am very happy that President Bush has shown the fortitude to deal with Pakistani state-sponsored terrorism as it should. Anything less, and the United States could be fairly accused of enormous hypocrisy.

Pakistani nuclear scientists cooperating with Al-Quaeda in its quest to construct, seize and control nuclear weapons, which it assuredly would attempt to employ in the mass slaughter of Americans is a grave matter indeed. I would like to see the CIA engage in a "snatch and grab" operation, whereby those scientists are brought to the United States, tried before a military tribunal and, if found guilty, promptly executed. One of the charges could be "crimes against humanity." Placing nuclear weapons technology at the disposal of mass-murderers who have publicly stated their desire and intention to target millions of innocent civilians I would consider meets the standard set by this heinous crime. Anyone else who has aided this effort directly should also meet the same fate. Strong action is in order, before we face not only the destruction of a number of landmark buildings, but the incineration of one of our city centers.
