The media does not care what the public thinks or believes. The media is of the opinion their interpretation of events is swallowed by the public and the public needs to be influenced by the media. Also,,, the anchors (should be used as anchors in many cases) think they are worth millions--- WHY? Many can hardly read what is put in front of them (Maria B & Geraldo are hardly qualified to work a counter at McDs)-- The networks do not want to report news-- they want to make it up just as often! It all boils down to money (now that brunett on CNN deserves a million $$-- a beauty!)
Anyway--- that was the long way of saying you are correct! The US media does not give a shit what the public thinks--- only if the public believes all the BS supplied by their networks. The networks attempt to sway thinking of the public to the way of the network mogols--- NONE of those are representative of the general US public!
