I was actually out in your part of the world in November.

One thing I can tell you about MN is that they must have enjoyed a banner deer hunting season this year as I have never seen so many deer on the roads (both alive as well as dead) as I did between Chicao and Minneapolis. Scared the heck out of me. (g)

I also experienced a rare event about 100 miles east of Minneapolis .... my trusty Golf diesel quit while I was running cross country in the dead of night. Of course I was in the middle of nowhere. The cell phone was out of range so I decided to use my ham radio. (Got an immediate reply from a guy down on the gulf coast..... real helpful). I lucked out. I always carry a tow rope (usually to give others a hand), so when the first vehicle came by (a logging truck), I flagged him down and he towed me to the next town. Back in business within a few hours after a computer relay was replaced. Great folks up your way Joan.
