he suspects that when the American public and to a great extent the American Congress finds out how much the US executive is lying to them about the Saudi-Terrorism nexus, they are going to be most unhappy.

Not as long as there's bread and we're winning the circuses! I think we're sophisticated enough to recognize that the Saudi government errs, as all governments do, but they remain allies. And that the avoidance of public humiliation does not mean that these things are not being addressed privately.

Perhaps I'm being presumptuous and overly trusting, but hey, the bread's great!
