Hi Heinz, you would have enjoyed the sequence of Thai Buddhist wedding ceremonies I attended today, especially the one at a temple on the river in the countryside of Bangkok. The temple’s interior was gilded entirely in gold, the air was scented, the sunlight was filtered through swaying leafs of big trees in the ancient garden, creating patterns of light and shadow in the interior, and the monks’ long and synchronized chants were trance inducing, making the total effect hallucinogenic and the entire experience spiritual.

My mind collaged several parallel threads of thought … gold … faith … meaning … the temperature of girl’s arm next to mine … the girl … her scent … gold ankle bracelet ... ankles … gold … increasing temperature … searing heat … light … shimmering … gold … gold …

For some strange reason, I also thought of wine, cheese, black olives, goose liver pâté, and swimming naked in a waterfall-fed rock pool. I suppose they were all good things purchasable with gold. Anyway, it was magical :0)

The evening affair in the garden of Oriental Spa I just returned from was also spiritually uplifting. You know, the usual, food, wine, girls, music, dancing, and animal spirit. In line with the recent discussion on the thread concerning cognitive dissonance, it was difficult to reconcile the ‘bottom’ that we are at in Thailand’s cycle with what went on during the course the day.

On <<we could always be in for a bond and/or a gold bubble>> betting on some event that has happened again and once more several times is probably a good and safe bet on occurrence, and the believers should be at least 20 years closer to the next coming.

Chugs, Jay
