Chris, it looks like your zeal to find something in which to criticize George Bush with in regard to our war effort, has fallen flat on its face again. The Pentagon has already refuted the accuracy of that report.
I'll bet it just burns your left wing britches to see President Bush being such an effective Commander in Chief.. How sad (yet predictable), that you would put political objectives above our military concerns.
The war in Afghanistan has thus far been managed by a team of professionals, who took the best information and resources from all areas of government to accomplish our goal. It took 100 days, a few thousand troops, and less than a handful of U.S. casualties to accomplish what the entire Soviet Army couldn't accomplish in 10 years!
Less then two months ago the gloom and doom leftists, said it couldn't be done. That it shouldn't be done, that too many innocent civilians would get killed, that we would get mired in another Vietnam, that we would starve the Afghan people, that it would cost thousands of U.S. lives. On and on and on....gloom and doom pessimists of the left never really believed in our military and civilian leadership.
Once again they have been shown to be absolutely wrong headed tunnel vision fools.
The Afghanistan people now have a real chance to join the civilized world and offer hope for their children, and for their women who have suffered for far too long.
This Christmas season, I will be saying a special prayer of thanks to George Bush who has guided our nation so wonderfully during this time of national stress.
I will also pray that "peace on earth" will one day be achieved, if we have the courage to crush evil where it dares to raise its ugly head against the innocent again. |
