That's because the Qur'an was written by a man who was not under the influence of the Angel Gabriel, but was very astutely reasoning that the best way to expand his kingdom was to establish something larger than himself. So he created a religion whose sole purpose was to expand his own legacy. He did a great job of it. Unfortunately, he may well have contributed to the damnation of a billion souls in the process, not to mention causing the suffering and misery of many millions more. His legacy now is a backward faith and the stagnation of a once great people.

Jesus warned of many false prophets that would come after him, who would be responsible for luring many away from the right path to salvation.
