Fortunately, this has not happened on a grand scale here...where can one go to pick your own peaches, fresh from the tree and pay ~50 cents a pound? Same with apples and pears. Or pick blackberries, marionberries, or boysenberries for about ~35 cents a pound? Strawberries seem to be the first casualty, but some places still remain... Ever marinate artichoke hearts?
