I like Israel's El Al approach which is to interview the passengers and screen people, not so much focus on the luggage. This wild eyed freak on the Paris/Miami flight would have been picked out rather quickly I think.

All this searching little old ladies for nail clippers and nutrasweet are just another symptom of liberal abandonment of common sense and pressure towards political correctness. All brought to you by the ACLU crowd who wants to defend the American Taliban Johhny Walker as a poor misguided youth. We all know who is trying to blow up the airplanes and it isn't Timothy McVeigh's group and it isn't Grandma.

The ACLU would rather have you wait in 2 hour lines and be strip searched in order to protect the rights of foreign nationals who intend to bomb airplanes. Lobbyists (Like the higher education lobby) to the U.S. government would rather have you die in some terrorist attack here than to shut off the massive influx of students on visas from known terrorist harboring nations.
