I always assumed that many if not most Canadians are so inundated with US culture that they think of themselves as quasi-Americans.... Anyway, we all use the word "we" in a variety of contexts as we discuss things. From "Solon": "We [speaking of Americans] have a lot to be proud of." "On behalf of the United States of America, I apologize." "We chose to kill them indiscriminately." Karen, do you really wish to stand on your proffered explanation? You do not believe "Solon" was falsely portraying himself as an American citizen? I believe that you once referred to the "audience" your posts reach. Do you offer that explanation to the audience as your sincere belief? JC
