Timba,

Have you tried the North Pole? (:-)

I've bought components for 5 new boxes now, and I've yet to find a place that offers it all...
I am looking for wide selection and fairly low prices combined with quality product and reasonable delivery time and cost.

Here's what I do. I go to PriceWatch and search for all the components separately. I note the vendors that are among the lower price ranges for each component. Then I try to combine them, usually ordering from 3 or 4 or so.

It's just that the prices can vary dramatically from vendor to vendor, and from component to component. No one seems to offer good deals on all you need. You can easily pay 50% more by ordering from only one vendor.

As you pointed out, shipping is an important factor. It doesn't necessarily hurt to order from multiple vendors from the shipping cost perspective. Many vendors charge per item on shipping, with no break for quantity. Like one item ships for $10 and 10 items ship for $100, even light weight non bulky items. You need to stay away from vendors who make most or all of their profit from shipping.

Ordering from multiple sources is a hassle and makes the ordering process complex, but I've found this method saves big $$.

If someone knows of one place that has low price, quality and wide selection, please post.

Good luck building your system. I love mine.

Esteban
