David-I run a decent sum of money myself, including a nice slug of my own money. I dont hedge my bets and am entirely focused on the long side of the market hence I am looking for a bright person to run some contrary picks for me, so I can remain focused on what I do best, finding stocks that go up. I am focused primarily on biotechs and am up 40% ytd, give or take. With such gains in hand, a hedge at this time seems appropriate.
I understand just what you are talking about in regards to negative posts. I try to refrain from such and would recommend using extra tact, if you insist.

As for DLP. (dekalb??) I don't follow them, so I really can't comment. CELG has made there missteps and I dont think they are really a threat to anyone at this time. Longer term it is obvious better focused pesticides and herbicides are going to become more prevalent. I would still think, focused and more productive genetically engineered seeds would thrive as well. But as I said, this is not an area I have done any homework on. I would imagine a trend like this would not happen overnight and would occur gradually over many years.
